About the course This course will allow you to utilise all of the fundamental features of Sage 50 Accounts, enabling you to get up and running with the software as quickly and confidently as possible. We recommend it to all Sage Line 50 users as essential training because it covers many routines that are fundamental to problem-free accounting. Session 1: Navigation and Settings Learn about key decisions: basic configuration, account coding structures and layout of accounts. Cover Profit/Loss and Balance Sheet design, Financial Year settings. Learn about Currencies, Tax Codes, Departments and Company Preferences. Session 2: Nominal Ledger and Chart of Accounts Gain an overview of the three integrated ledger systems - nominal, sales and purchase - used in Sage 50 Accounts. Learn how to set up the Chart of Accounts, create customer and supplier records, how to tailor nominal ledger records and account names. Learn how to alter the layouts of the Profit and Loss and Balance Sheet reports. This session also looks at Accounts Analyser, introduced with Sage 50 Accounts version 10. Session 3: Entering Opening Balances Understand the choice of methods and implications for Standard VAT and VAT Cash Accounting, and how to make checks against your previous system. Session 4: Recording Nominal, Customer and Supplier Transactions Learn how to record invoices, produce service invoices and credit notes (Note – product invoice production is not covered).
